An example
how does compound interest work beginner pls
Compound interest means you earn interest on the money you put in and also on the interest it has already earned. Say you put $100 in a savings account that pays 10% a year. After one year you have $110. In year two, the 10% is worked out on $110, so you earn $11 instead of $10 and end with $121. Each year you earn a little more, because the amount it's based on keeps growing. The longer you leave the money alone, the faster it grows. That's why starting to save early makes a big difference.
